Everyone needs a best friend like Shelly!

Monday was an awful day! I found out that one of the companies I work for was closing it's doors. I was shocked as well as everyone else. They made the announcement in the afternoon and handed us all a paper explaining what would be happening with our final checks and benefits. Lucky for me I work for 2 companies and one of them wasn't closing down. They offered a job to me but with a $3.00 an hour cut in pay. (They were only use to paying half my wage and didn't want to step up and pay the entire amount) Ouch!!!!! I didn't dare pass it up knowing how many people didn't have a job. I however, am a little stressed and feeling demoted. I will be doing basically the same things I have been doing for over a year now just making less. It's hard to feel devalued. On Tuesday, flowers arrived at my work. These colorful daisies made a situation a little better and brightened my day. My friend Shelly is an awesome friend. She is always there when I need someone to talk to or lift me up when I am down. I am so lucky to have a friend like Shelly.

Christmas 2008.

Aftermath of a huge snow and wind storm. This was even after our neighbor plowed it out earlier that afternoon. Our snowblower broke down so Scott and the boys spent alot of time over Christmas shoveling us out.- Dec. 08

Christmas Lights in Salt Lake City.

We haven't been to Salt Lake for several years to see the Christmas lights at temple square. This year we decided to take the time to do that. Scott had a week off work and Dana Rae took time off. We went down for our family Christmas party, rented a room at little America, went swimming, saw a movie, went Christmas shopping, and visited the lights. Damian and Braxton did not want their picture taken but these are a couple that I was able to get. (Dec. 20th- 23rd)

Diane and Jeff finally get to celbrate Christmas!

Diane and Jeff were not able to come home on Christmas due to the weather. We really missed them. The day was not the same without them. Scott went over this week to visit them and take them all of their Christmas presents. They thought Christmas in January okay.

Damian's buys his first car!

It doesn't seem possible for him to be old enough to drive. However, at the age of 14 he is now old enough to take drivers ed. After he completes that he then has several hours he has to drive with an adult so he can qualify for his license. (I told him he wouldn't be practicing in my car!) Today he took me for a ride in his car. I was scared!!! I made Braxton go although he didn't want to. He was a pretty good driver though. He took us around the block and I only had to close my eyes a couple of times. The boys just laughed that I would be so funny! I am not sure I am ready for this!

Scott Turns 50!

Life's a Journey not a Destination!
He still doesn't look it (or act it!) but Scott turned 50 on Sept. 18th, 2007. We had a surprise party for him at the Hard Hat Steakhouse in Rexburg with many of his friends and co-workers from the furniture store. It was so fun to see everyone, reminisce the memories we had with each one of the guests, and celebrate Scott's milestone birthday.

I am blogging!

I am trying to figure all this blogging out so that I too can say that I have yet another addiction: blogging! I am sure this will be a work in progress for some time. I currently have seperate blogs. One is dedicated to my family and the other is dedicated to my Close to My Heart business and passion for scrapbooking and stamping. Visit them both and check back to them often for updates and new posts.
